To control I map everything to one hand, leaving the other for mouse and camera control: Y / H keys to bladers spinners which increases / decreases vertical thrust, I / J / K / L to roll and pitch umbrellas and U / O to yaw umbrellas. Make sure the auto-roation block speed is set to 1.50 or below, higher values will result in blades falling off. Make sure the center of mass is right in the middle under the airblades so your helicopter or whatever beast you're building doesn't flip forward or backward automatically.Ģ. You attach roll / pitch / yaw "umbrellas" to the flat base to allow for angle change.ġ. Make sure you flip the top 4 blades and 4 spinners properly since they will counter-rotate.Ĥ. You attach 8 spinners to auto-rotation blocks no.1 and 3 above and 8 airblades to them.ģ.

You put 4 blocks one on top of the each other: free rotation block, auto-rotation block 1 (speed=1.50, clockwise), auto-rotation block 2 (speed=1.50 counterclockwise), auto-rotation block 3 (speed=1.50 counterclockwise).Ģ. Here is one I built, not sure if you can see the blades system well in these screnshots:ġ. 2.1K Share 327K views 8 years ago I just started playing the game tonight and Im having a blast (or three), and I was even able to build a flying machine that was controllable enough to fly.

It alse helps with forward thrust although it's not needed to fly. That's waht the rear prop is on the bomber is so I can reverse. Also make it a two key controller so I can do reverse.

I think the best update for flying machines is to make a controllable spining block that spins fast enough to put the regular prop blades on and fly. But I've made some upgrades which help it a bit. The attack heli is the most difficult to fly by far.

I'll post a link to my photobucket so you can see my flight creations. The fighter is a biplane, and the bomber is a triplane. Both have landing gear which hang below the wings. My highest point is the wings aside from the rear stabilizer and rudder. I built a quick little fighter and a bomber yesterday both of which are stable and reliably fly. So I tried that and it made a world of a difference for me. I saw someone building with primarily wing panels and reniforced them with braces. There are some dyanics modelled and they seem to be different once the vehicle is in the air? Not sure because I haven't managed more than a few seconds. The trick is to keep a low center of gravity while keeping it light.

A simple propeller can literally flip a vehicle over or break it's axle. With the wheels you can do a reverse counter-propeller, but some torque remains. Tonight I'm going to try to use counterweight ballast to counter the torque. I'm referring to the rotor blades on a block on a wheel propeller design by the way, due to its adjustable speed and greater lift. I tried using a prop in the front, a prop in the back, dual wingmounted props, quad wingmounted props, but they all torque the fuselage too much. I think it's only possible to create helicopter type flying machines. And if you try a spinning block with propellars attached to it the whole thing torques and is unflyable. You have to add blocks to add more flying blocks and the weight of those blocks negates the extra power from the added flying blocks. I've been trying but the flying block doesn't spin fast enough. โพสต์ดั้งเดิมโดย Spaisekraft:I'd like to see someone make an actual airplane without the use of the flying block acting like a helicopter rotor.
